Many believe that scoring an ace requires 100% of a server’s power. Yet trying to score in this way often comes with a high rate of error.
For greater success, Coach Nabil Mardini suggests using the 80% concept. Instead of going for maximum power, servers reduce their ball speed to 80%. Serving at a slower speed allows players to put ample pace on the ball while maintaining control. This allows your athletes to throw your opponent off balance and still earn points off aces.
